The city administration will close down all unlicensed labor agencies providing jobs overseas due to the rampant extortion of, and violence against, migrant workers.
“Overseas job agencies without operation permits will be closed down to help minimize extortion at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and during migrant workers’ journeys to their hometowns,” West Jakarta labor and transmigration agency head Suhari said on Friday as quoted by tempo.co.
