Muscat: A move to increase the fee to recruit expatriate labour in Oman has been voted down in the Majlis Al Shura on Sunday.
The Majlis Al Shura’s economic committee is holding a meeting to discuss various proposals related to labour recruitment, fuel subsidy and imposing a tax on remittance fee among others.
In the ongoing meeting, 65 per cent of the panel opposed the move to increase the recruitment fee from OMR200 to OMR250.
