The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has cancelled the license of recruitment agency Japhil 2000 International Agency Corporation which was found liable for charging excessive placement fee from a worker it deployed to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

POEA administrator Hans Cacdac said in a statement that the agency was found to have collected P21,100 from overseas Filipino worker (OFW) Honey Lou V. Gian for a cleaner job with a monthly salary of P8,000.

Cacdac said the act was illegal since its violates POEA rules that state that agencies could only collect placement fees worth the one-month salary of the worker.
