A high-profile Saudi delegation will arrive in Dhaka on Sunday to discuss the recruitment procedure of workers from Bangladesh to the kingdom.
“The team will discuss different issues regarding recruitment of manpower from Bangladesh,” Sarwar Alam, counsellor (Labour wing) at Bangladesh embassy in Riyadh, told The Daily Star over phone today.
“They will sit with the expatriates’ welfare minister and different bodies involved with manpower export during their stay in Dhaka.”
Dr Ahmed F Alfahaid, deputy minister for international affairs of the Saudi labour ministry, will lead the delegation comprising representatives from the ministries concerned, Sarwar added.
The visitors will leave Dhaka for Riyadh on February 11.
Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Secretary Khandaker Iftekhar Haider said the delegation would visit Bangladesh to inspect the interested migrant jobseekers’ database and security maintenance as part of the procedure of the recruitment.
