RIYADH – The Ministry of Labor has reorganized the application process for domestic workers’ visas, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.
Now only employers can submit applications for obtaining visas for domestic workers directly to the Ministry of Labor.
If a visa application is submitted on behalf of the employer, the applicant must have a letter of attorney and can apply only through national recruitment offices listed on the Musaned website (www.musaned.gov.sa). The decision came into force on Jan. 1, 2015.
The Ministry of Labor warned last year all recruitment offices against authorizing others to carry out services on their behalf. In a bid to streamlining measures, the recruitment requests are only processed through recruitment offices and companies operating under licenses.
