VANCOUVER—B. C. Minister of Labour Harry Bains tabled Tuesday the Temporary Foreign Worker Protection Act in the B.C. legislature, which he says will fulfil the government’s promise to create a registry of employers and recruitment agencies active in the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
If the act receives royal assent, employers using the temporary foreign worker program will need to register with the government, and recruitment agencies working to bring foreign workers to the province of B.C. will have to apply for licences.
