Officials of labour recruitment agencies said they have stopped recruiting domestic workers from certain African countries in view of the spread of the Ebola virus in those places, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.

They said domestic workers from other countries are subjected to health examination before and after recruitment in order to check if they are medically fit for the work, the report states.

Meanwhile, the officials said the market for domestic workers is witnessing a slowdown due to the summer vacation, a period when citizens and residents travel to other countries.
