More than 100 hopeful migrant workers yesterday filed a complaint to the Labour Ministry over the sluggish processing times at one of its approved recruitment agencies.

According to the complaint, 116 workers from Phnom Penh and other provinces contacted the SKMN Investment Company three months ago to have it prepare legal work documents for them and place them in jobs in Thailand.

But the company has yet to follow through on its obligations, the workers claim.

Dy Thehoya, a programme officer at labour rights group Central, said the workers were following the law by not crossing into Thailand illegally like thousands of their counterparts and should not have to wait three months for paperwork processing.
